What is the Fellow Night Owl Scholarship Fund?

WGU’s Fellow Night Owl Scholarship is a fund established to help current WGU students facing financial hardship and cross the finish line to graduation. More than 50 students each year receive tuition assistance from the Fellow Night Owl Scholarship Fund.

How are students supported by the Online Access Scholarship?

At WGU, we believe that while talent is universal, access to opportunity is not. The Online Access Scholarship is for new students beginning a program at WGU. The scholarship provides recipients with a hotspot enabled laptop, complete with an external webcam for the duration that a student is active and in good standing. We know that these tools are key in helping students have access to education, and thus access to opportunity.

What is the Student Emergency Aid Fund?

The Student Emergency Aid Fund provides emergency aid to help current WGU students with non-tuition expenses that seriously jeopardize their academic journeys. It is everlastingly sustained to ensure that high-need students have a safety net during natural disasters and crisis.

What is the School of Business Scholarship Fund?

The School of Business (CoB) Scholarship Fund provides scholarship awards to students in any of WGU’s business degree programs.

What is the School of Education Scholarship Fund?

The School of Education Scholarship Fund provides scholarship awards to students in any of WGU’s education degree programs.

What is the Leavitt School of Health Scholarship Fund?

The Leavitt School of Health Scholarship Fund provides scholarship awards to students in any of WGU’s health degree programs.

What is the School of Information Technology Scholarship Fund?

The School of Inforamtion Technology Scholarship Fund provides scholarship awards to students in any of WGU’s technology degree programs.

How do I contribute?

A gift can be made by simply pressing the project’s “MAKE A GIFT” button.  You will automatically be linked to WGU’s secure online giving page.

Is there a minimum gift amount to participate?

No! Every gift regardless of amount will be accepted. 

Is my payment secure?

Yes. WGU utilizes a PCI compliant payment processor Stripe to process your gifts.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card is charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the website.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?

Yes. You will receive an email receipt for your donation.

Can my employer match my gift?

Yes. Many companies will make a matching gift to WGU when one of their employees donates. To find out if your company has such a program, use our convenient matching gift search engine www.wgu.edu/matchinggifts.
Matching gifts are directed to the same designation as your original gift. WGU will recognize you for the total amount donated. Please follow the provided fulfillment instructions for your companies matching gift program.

Will my contribution be tax-deductible?

Yes. WGU Advancement is a 501(c)3 institution and your gift is tax-deductible within the limitations of US Federal Income Tax Law. Please consult a professional tax advisor with your personal tax questions.
